At Gardon Construction we are a diverse, technologically deep firm (Our Team) that has extensive expertise in construction management and general contracting, which includes new project construction and major interior/exterior renovations and additions.

In the Fall of 2020, our firm expanded our service profile to provide full concrete restoration and rehabilitation services.

We are a competitive firm with a strong professional background working in markets that cover construction of - commercial, industrial, multi-family residential, institutional, health, and hi and low-rise envelope restoration projects.

Almost 40 Years

Our History

Two decades as a Control Officer for two major construction firms in Winnipeg, a young Gary Johnson decided to step out onto the construction stage establishing Gardon Construction Ltd. in 1984.

As a second-generation family enterprise, Gardon Construction has been helping to build and re-build local, rural, and northern communities through out Manitoba and Western Canada for almost 40 years. We have been extremely fortunate to have so many incredible people be apart of our team throughout our years in business. Our organization consists of long-standing Gold Seal™ certified project managers, site supervisors, red seal certified carpenters, NCSO certified QA/QC safety officers, and concrete surface repair technician (CSRT) certified team members.

Environmental Management

Sustainability

As an advocate of sustainable design and delivery, Gardon Construction has worked on several LEED© projects that include new construction (NC) and commercial interiors (CI).

We work with developed procedures that implement environmental management strategies that include: Land Management - through erosion and sedimentation control, Waste Management - that contribute to landfill diversion, reuse and recycling of building materials, and VOC Product Management - that aid in cleaner air work environments on our projects. Our strategies successes have been able to divert up to 95% of construction waste away from landfills. As a result of these efforts, our achievement earned our company an innovation credit, a true testament to our company's ability and commitment to the green building movement and its philosophy

Safety

As a COR™ certified company for almost 2 decades, our safety standards at Gardon are second to none. Our team includes a highly experienced NCSO certified QA/QC Safety Officer who ensures compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety requirements on all project sites. Our ongoing communication and commitments to our COR™ Safety Program helps move our team towards a zero-incident project site. These standards guarantee that all Gardon Construction project sites maintain a safe work environment for all staff, trade companies, professional firms, more importantly, our clients.

Apprenticeship and Gold Seal

Our continual support of the Manitoba Apprenticeship and The Canadian Construction Gold Seal Programs, speaks to our company's belief in training and education. These programs contribute to enhancing our staff's performance, boosting their productivity, reducing employee turnover, developing future leaders, there by improving Gardon Construction's work culture for future generations.

Advocacy

Gardon Construction is a long-standing member of the Winnipeg Construction Association™ and have had the honor and privilege of being a sitting board member of the Board of Directors of the WCA.

Our passion for our industry has also included being representatives of the chair of the Advisory Board for the Construction Safety Association - Industry Advisory Committee, and former vice chair for the WCA, Information, Communication and Technology Committee. In addition to supporting our local construction community, our further affiliations and relationships include local memberships to Sustainable Building Manitoba™, and the American Concrete Institute™ - Winnipeg Chapter. Our national and international affiliations and memberships include the Canadian Construction Association of Canada™, a member with the International Concrete Repair Institute™ (ICRI), and a member with the Sealant Waterproofing & Restoration Institute™ (SWRI).
